1. How much does it cost to see a Financial Planner?
Our initial meeting is cost free and obligation free. This meeting is used to explore your current situation and your goals and objectives. A fee for work beyond the initial meeting will be negotiated prior to commencement of any work.We generally find that the value of any advice outweighs the cost of preparing a financial plan.
2. Can I see your Financial Services Guide?
The Financial Services Guide (FSG) explains the nature of the financial services being offered, the fees and commissions charged and how the person providing the service deals with customer complaints. At Pigot Miller Wilson we are required by law to give a client a FSG before providing any financial advice.
3. How long have you been a financial planner?
Pigot Miler Wilson has been providing financial advice to its clients since June 2000.
4. What type of investments do you use?
We use a range of investments including platforms, direct shares, retail funds and cash products.
5. Will I receive written advice?
Yes, by law, a financial planner must provide a written Statement of Advice (SoA) if personal financial advice has been given.
6. Who will my money be invested with?
Our investment products are subject to a stringent screening process, to ensure our clients funds are only invested in quality products provided by reputable providers.
7. How often will you review my advice and what will it cost me?
Every financial plan needs to be reviewed. At Pigot Miller Wilson, we generally review your financial plan every 12 months or a time-frame agreed upon with you in our Terms of Agreement. If there is an additional cost for reviewing your financial plan, we will agree to a cost with you at that time. As your goals and life changes, so should your financial plan.
8. How do I know I will not loose all of my investment?
Our investment products are subject to a stringent screening process, to ensure our clients funds are only invested in quality products provided by reputable providers. We are proud to say we have never been involved with any investments that have collapsed, such as Bridgecorp, Australian Capital Reserve and the like.
9. Who authorises you to give advice and are you licensed by ASIC?
Financial planning is provided by Wealthplan Australia ABN 53 917 561 033, ASIC Authorised Representative Number 341335, authorised by Count Financial Limited AFSL 227232.

10. How does the planner keep up-to-date with everything that’s happening?
At Pigot Miller Wilson we are committed to high professional standards and a code of ethics, and we keep abreast of current issues. We are required to maintain our professional development through conference and seminars, training courses and industry related readings. These are provided through our licensee, Count Financial, as well as professional bodies such as the FPA, FINSIA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
11. How do you go about understanding a new client?
Our job is to understand your circumstances, so that the advice we give you is relevant and meaningful to your situation. In order to understand your current position, we complete a document called a Financial Needs Analyser . This can be completed by you in the comfort of your own home, or as many prefer, at a meeting with one of our friendly qualified planners.
12. What kinds of clients do you mostly see?
Our clients range from the young, to the elderly, self-employed, PAYG Incomes, retirees and the list goes on. As an accounting practice that has been established for over 60 years, we have, and cater for everyone.
13. Who can give financial product and financial planning advice?
All individuals who give financial planning advice captured under the Financial Services Reform Act must be Authorised Representatives and be able to produce their Certificate of Authorisation on request. Our two planners are:
